Welcome

OpeningDoor WelcomeAfter many months of building (and tearing down), I am happy to announce that we are finally moving into the beta launch of Helen K. Presents, We are here to help educate, inspire and empower you to have the best relationship with yourself so you make positive decisions around your finances, relationships and work life.

The impetus for this started a few years ago when counseling people on their relationship with money. By raising self awareness through the portal of money, people began to feel more at ease with their financial situation. Their overall sense of well-being increased.

It didn’t matter how many zeroes people had in their bank accounts, people searching for a better relationship with money came with different histories: from being frustrated that they were not earning their full potential to people of inherited wealth who found it painful to spend what they had. As a result of becoming connected to their money, I witnessed the overall quality of their lives improve as they formed more positive relationships with themselves and others. What became clear was that how we relate to money is interwoven with the way we view ourselves, our deepest emotions and our relationships. We know that making major life changes and moving through a transformation doesn’t happen in a vacuum. We all need guidance, support and to be held accountable (No wo/man is an island!).

We want to establish a place where you can feel free to engage in thoughtful conversations around these cornerstones of life; your relationship to your self, your money and your work life.

I encourage you to post your comments on our site on our Facebook page, www.facebook.com/helenkimcommunity!

Over the next few months, we will be in a kind of beta-state but here’s what you can look forward to.

Each week you will receive 3 short emails in text, audio or video form, submitted by guest experts and myself focused on the following:

  • Your relationship to yourself (self image, your body, mind and spiritual life) and others (love life, professional relationships, family life)
  • Your relationship to the work you do – Deepening the way you express yourself through your work life
  • Your relationship to money – Focused on looking at the way you think and feel about money
  • My kind of “4 AM thoughts” where I will share my personal observations and insights as I navigate through my own life
  • An audio/video interview with someone who has changed not only their lives, but others, for the better.

You will also have access to audio interviews with such people as:

  1. Lisa Napoli, Former NPR and CNN producer and author of “Radio Shangri-La: What I Learned in Bhutan, The Happiest Kingdom on Earth”. Lisa shares her journey from her days as an L.A.-based producer to her decision to leave it all behind in order to help Bhutan start their first radio station. (www.lisanapoli.com
  2. Jenny Phillips, Filmmaker and psychotherapist in a discussion about “The Dhamma Brothers” her film which documented her work of taking Vipissana meditation into one of the most violent prisons in Alabama. (http://www.dhammabrothers.com

  1. I appreciate reading your emails and am also working on a personal financial planning book combining practical tools with spirituality — Financial Medicine for the Chronically Ill. Would like to use you as a source and look forward to your newsletter for ideas.

I am not, however, a Facebook person — I’ve had too many privacy issues with it and it’s just not my style. I don’t like to publicly discuss online every project I’m involved in or every opinion or interest.
